How long are the shifts?

Shifts range in length depending on the area and the day, but generally they are 3.5 to 4 hours long.

Do volunteers get to see the shows?

Yes! On the day of your shift, you are welcome to do whatever you choose with your free time as long as you show up on time and are ready to work when scheduled. Being a volunteer though does mean that you may have to sacrifice some of your viewing time to do the job that you signed up for.

If you are working a Pre-Fest set up shift (Wednesday and/or Thursday) you can attend one day of music for each day you work.  You must let us know by 7/24 which day (s) of the Festival you would like to attend and you will need to check in at the Volunteer Tent each day you are utilizing this incentive.  We will not have extra passes for Pre-Festival Volunteers at the grounds.

I’m not sure I can do any real physical labor, does that disqualify me from volunteering?

Absolutely not! Just be sure to read the area descriptions and choose one that you can physically handle. Some of our volunteer areas  do require heavy lifting but it will be noted in the description. If you get on site and don’t think you can handle a specific job, speak up and we’ll find something else for you to do.

Can I choose what area I will be working in?

You have the opportunity to sign up for specific areas but, it is subject to availability, the Festival needs and your skills.  You will find out what shifts you will be working when you receive your confirmation e-mail.

How can I assure I get on my preferred volunteer crew?

There are no guarantees of volunteer crew placement.  If you have special skills that would make you a better fit for a certain crew, please note that on the application.  We appreciate your flexibility and willingness to help out!

I already bought a ticket but I’d like to volunteer instead, can I get a refund?

Thank you for purchasing a ticket to the XPoNential Festival!  Unfortunately, we cannot refund the cost of your ticket in order for you to volunteer.  Enjoy the show!

My bestie is also volunteering, can we coordinate our shifts?

When you and your friend fill out your application, you may indicate each other’s name and that you would like to be placed with them if possible.  Keep in mind, with many volunteers and many varied needs, we cannot guarantee that you will share assignments with your friend but we will try!

Can my child volunteer with me? Can they hang out and play in the Camden Children’s Garden while I volunteer?

No. Volunteers must be 18 years of age by July 1, 2016.  Children are not allowed to be with you while you are on duty.  The Camden Children’s Garden policy does not allow unaccompanied children.  The Children’s Garden, WXPN and the XPoNential Music Festival are not responsible for the care of children.

Will I be fed while I am volunteering?

Festival Volunteers will be provided with one (1) boxed lunch provided they are working between the hours of 11am and 1pm Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday.  Water and other non-alcoholic beverages will be provided at all times for all volunteers. There is a variety of food and beverage vendors at the Festival.  You are responsible for any expenses for food purchased on your own.

Is transportation, accommodation or parking provided?

No.  All volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to and from the Festival grounds as well as your parking and accommodations. XPN and the XPoNential Festival are not responsible for any damage, fines, tickets or taxes to your vehicle or accommodation incurred during the event.
